In-Person Meeting with Scottish Parliament: Advocating for DES Victims' Rights
Caitlin McCarthy will be meeting with members of Scottish Parliament in person on Monday, November 11, as Scotland moves to fulfill its promise to investigate how it can provide care for DES victims. Miles Briggs MSP pressed Nicola Sturgeon on this issue after her apology last year -- click HERE to view their exchange.
In Caitlin’s testimony, she will stress the urgent need for medical research and a public awareness campaign to ensure that women and their children are informed about the dangers of DES, a toxic and carcinogenic synthetic estrogen, so they can receive the appropriate healthcare.
Caitlin previously testified via video before members of Scottish Parliament, which led to Sturgeon's inclusion of DES in her apology to the forced adoption victims.
Caitlin aims to raise awareness about DES through WONDER DRUG, the feature film currently progressing, with Lori Singer directing, Caitlin McCarthy and Lori Singer as co-writers, and Stephen Nemeth/Rhino Films and Caitlin McCarthy as producers, alongside Vanessa Hope as Executive Producer.
